DETAILS

Join us in welcoming Ensemble MidtVest to the Embassy Series with an event at the Arts Center of Washington. This special evening, in a historic space, is another signature opportunity to participate in our long history of cultural diplomacy, enjoy some chamber music, feast with other guests on a Danish style dinner, and break bread with new friends from around the world.

Ensemble MidtVest (EMV)  plays chamber music and creates musical experiences reaching beyond the stage. They exist at the interface between traditional chamber-music concerts and new innovative formats in which they challenge how chamber music can be expressed and delve into a 500-year-long repertoire and free improvisation.

EMV wants to create a personal relationship with all audiences, and make the musical experience moving and relevant for everyone. This applies wherever they meet their audience; be it inside or outside the concert hall. EMV believes that music is a right, not a privilege, and they want to help make sure that everyone has equal access to classical music, including those who live in outlying areas of Denmark.

EMV has released a number of recordings and can be found on most streaming music services, including Spotify

The Arts Center of Washington occupies a historic building once owned by James Monroe just three blocks from the White House. For a century the Arts Club of Washington has promoted and celebrated the visual, performing, and literary arts in the nation’s capital. Gatherings for members, exhibits and performances for the public, and a range of private events are held in the club’s historic I Street mansion.

This event will be held in the Center's Theater (Monroe Gallery) where you'll be surrounded by contemporary art as you bask in a glorious concert followed by a Danish style dinner buffet at seated tables.
